Results of the meeting held three days before the tournament
To all runners participating in Mt. FUJI100
Thank you very much for your continued support of Mt.FUJI100.
I am Tatsuo Chiba, co-chair of the Executive Committee.
On the evening of Friday, April 4nd, we held our final management meeting, three days before the race.
As a result of the discussions, it has been officially decided that this year's race will be held on the scheduled course.
There is no forecast of rain along the course during the tournament (April 4th to 25th), so perfect conditions are expected.
However, in Fuji City and Fujinomiya City, rainfall of about 4 mm is expected by around noon on April 23rd, so people considered taking a detour around Ryugataka Mountain, which is vulnerable to rain.
After checking the photos and the situation on-site, we found that there was a risk of falling rocks on the descent from Hashishita Pass if we made a detour.
With safety as our number one priority, we have decided to hold the event on the planned course.
Additionally, we plan to consider whether or not to use the Ryugataka section in future competitions.
However, due to the recent rainfall, there are some sections where the risk of rockfall and other damage is slightly increased.
To ensure everyone's safety, we will provide information about the relevant areas in advance and operate the tournament with the most reliable system in place.
The race is just around the corner. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
Tatsuo Chiba, Co-chair of the Mt.FUJI100 Executive Committee
