Hiking Trail Maintenance Children's Program - Applications now open on June 6th and 8th!
The two days will see them having fun playing in the mountains, observing nature, and thinking about and taking action on what they can do to protect their playground.
The first day's play and learning experience took place at the foot of Mount Fuji. After discovering ways to enjoy the mountains beyond just viewing Mount Fuji, the children climbed Ishiwariyama, a mountain that had been used for competitions in the past but had fallen into disrepair and was removed from the course. They then repaired the mountain trail, imitating the natural process and aiming to stabilize the soil. Of course, adults were also invited to participate in the work!Would you like to join us in experiencing "mountain trail maintenance that brings smiles to your face"?
The event is organized by the NPO Fuji Trail Runners Club, which actively practices the event's philosophy of "environmental activities at the foot of Mt. Fuji."
