Climbing Mt. Fuji in 2024
The season for climbing Mt. Fuji is coming.
There are three major points to note when climbing the Fujiyoshida route in Yamanashi Prefecture, which will be open to the public from July 1st.
1. Traffic restrictions from 4 PM to 3 AM (excluding mountain hut guests. Quick hikes are prohibited)
2. The number of climbers per day is limited to 4,000
3. A toll of 2,000 yen will be charged (for safety guidance in the mountains, patrol guidance, support for foreigners, regulatory expenses, emergency recovery in the event of a disaster, maintenance and management of mountain trails, etc.)
All of these measures are intended to ensure the safety of climbers and to protect Mount Fuji for future generations.
For more details, please read the official Mt. Fuji climbing website below and start planning your climb.
There are also new precautions to take this year for the three routes on the Shizuoka side (Subashiri, Gotemba, and Fujinomiya), which will be open to the public from July 10th.
●Preparatory study of rules and etiquette for climbing Mt. Fuji
●Short-term climbing is prohibited (except for guests staying at mountain huts)
Further details are available on the official Mt. Fuji climbing website.

Regardless of which route you take, you will be asked to contribute 1,000 yen to the conservation of Mount Fuji.
It is used for setting up and managing first aid stations and toilets.
Although it is voluntary, we would appreciate your active cooperation.
