Mount Fuji 100The 11th race will be held over three days from April 2025th (Fri) to 4th (Sun), 25. The race will cover a distance of 27 km through the mountains, forests and towns at the foot of Mt. Fuji, with a cumulative elevation of 3 m."FUJI100mi" (Fuji 100 Miles)The latter half of the course is 70.2km long and has a cumulative elevation of 3,052m."KAI70k"In addition, this year's course will have a new distance of 40.2km and a cumulative elevation of 1,445m."ASUMI40k"The total number of participants in the three races will reach approximately 3,800, the highest number in the history of the event since the first event in 2012.

As the site of Japan's leading international trail running event, the area around Mount Fuji also welcomes trail runners and their families.

Mount Fuji 100 marks second year as flagship event of Gran Canaria World Trail Majors

The Mount Fuji 100, which changed its name last year, is an international trail running series."Gran Canaria World Trail Majors"This year, in addition to the FUJI2mi, the newly established ASUMI100k will be included in the annual rankings for the "Short Series," a series of middle-distance races newly established in the World Trail Majors, attracting even more international attention.

The 2025 Mount Fuji 100 will attract participants from 45 countries and regions around the world, the largest number ever. Of these, 530 participants are from Asian countries and regions, including China, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Korea. This reflects the growing popularity of trail running in Asia, and shows that the event is also growing as a place to share the appeal and values of trail running across borders and celebrate each other's efforts.

The course surrounding Mount Fuji, a living volcano, is a varied and challenging course.

The course of the Mount Fuji 100 is the foothills surrounding Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak. In contrast to the desolate summit area, which has only been around for 300 years since its last eruption, the foothills are a trail running paradise, dotted with lush green mountains, forests and clear lakes. Mount Fuji has long been worshipped as a symbol of great nature, and a town flourished at the foot of the mountain to welcome pilgrims from all over Japan. You may be able to feel this history from the townscapes that appear between courses.

Regarding the characteristics of the Mt. Fuji 100 as a trail running course, Dylan Bowman (USA), the 2016 and 2018 champion, commented, "What makes Mt. Fuji unique is that it alternates between flat sections that you can run on and long sections with tough climbs and descents." After climbing and descending steep rocks and tree roots, there are long stretches of flat trails and paved roads, so athletes are required to balance not only their running ability but also their pace.

This year's course has undergone some changes, with a new 40km race being added.

Following last year, the main venue for the 2025 event will be the Fuji Hokuroku Park Mt. Fuji Meisui Stadium (Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture). It will be the finish point for the FUJI 100mi, which starts and finishes at Mt. Fuji Children's World (Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture) on the south side of Mt. Fuji, as well as the start and finish point for the KAI 70k and ASUMI 40k.

The first ASUMI40k will be a course that cuts the middle part of the KAI70k course. This 40.2km race is a marathon distance trail running event that has seen a rapid increase in participants internationally and a remarkable improvement in the level of competition. It is not only an introductory race to the event where you can run while looking at Mt. Fuji, but is also expected to become an international standard competitive event like the FUJI100mi and KAI70k.
